In the magical world of design, colors play a very important role. When creating a brand guide for your business, it's essential to pick the right colors early on. Understanding the psychological effects of colors is a great starting point.

Color plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live. Color can sway thinking, change actions, and cause reactions. It can irritate or soothe your eyes, raise your blood pressure or suppress your appetite. When used in the right ways, color can even save on energy consumption.

Colour is part of everyday life. It will affect all of the senses, sight, touch, taste and even hearing. It can be emotional, exciting, stimulating, calming, soothing. Colour arouses many feelings and memories, good and bad, it can make us happy and sad. It is so much part of our daily life, that often we dont see it. Or aware of the effect it can have on our moods and our interaction with our surroundings.

Colour is wonderful, without colour, life as we know it would be drab and dreary.

So you see, we don't just notice colours, we feel them. Mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, they empower us. Dawn to dusk, they rule our world, transforming nature's energy into personal realisation, having an extremely powerful influence upon all our minds and emotions.

Some colours are warming; red, orange and yellow

Some are cooling; blue violet and gentian

Green is neutral; the middle or balancing colour.

Orange is joy, energy

Yellow is detachment, intellect

Pink is love, life

Green is balance/equilibrium, harmony and sympathy

Turquoise is immunity

Blue is relaxing, religious inspiration

Violet is dignity, self-respect, spirituality

Magenta is dissolving, letting go,

Red is passion, determination and energy.

So when thinking of change why not reflect on what colour would suit you and your home interior best and start by adding minimal colour by accessorising or if brave enough contemplate on painting the space …..

Love Colour 2019.
